This product is a compact and lightweight telephoto zoom lens covering a zoom range of 90-300mm (35mm film camera equivalent). The lens features an ultra high refractive index glass lens, UHR lens (Ultra High Refractive Index Lens), and a glass molded aspherical lens to achieve uniformity in image rendering from the center of the image to the periphery.

- Equipped with MEGA O.I.S. image stabilization system for hand-held shooting
The lens is equipped with MEGA Optical Image Stabilization (MEGA O.I.S.), which detects and reduces camera shake. A dedicated LSI built into the lens to enhance correction accuracy processes gyro-sensor output 4,000 times per second at high speed to accurately compensate for even the slightest blur. Unlike the body's built-in image stabilizer, the effect of the correction can be checked in the live-view finder or on the LCD, allowing the photographer to compose the shot exactly as intended.

- Unique lens drive motor for high-precision, high-speed contrast AF
A screw-integrated stepping motor is used in the drive system. The screw integrated with the motor shaft moves the focus lens directly without the use of relay gears or cams, resulting in precise, low-loss, and quiet AF operation.
